Obituary for Juanita Jo Goad
Juanita Jo Goad, 78, of Tolono peacefully passed away at Carle hospital Thursday January 27th, 2022 surrounded by her family.
Juanita was born February 17, 1943, to Russell and Lillie Johnson, at Burnham Hospital in Champaign. Juanita graduated from Unity High School. She worked as a CNA in her earlier years and became a skilled cake decorator for 40 years until her retirement.
Her main focus was always family and it showed with her passion for geneaology. When she wasn't spending time with family Juanita greatly enjoyed crocheting, listening to country music, reading and never would pass down a chance at making a new friend.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Suzy) Reed of St. Louis; daughter, Karen (Danny) Grady of Tolono; 7 grandchildren: Kyle (Briana), Kurt (Jessica), Keisha (Zach), Kayla (Ryan), Krystal (Austin), Karlee and Kaden; 8 great-grandchildren; Kaleb, Braiden, Hayden, Parker, Thea, Rowan, Malachi and Kassidy.
A celebration of Juanita's life will be held at Meadowbrook Community Church, 1902 S Duncan Rd, Champaign, on Saturday, Feb. 5, beginning with a visitation at 10 a.m. and a service at 11:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon.
