Obituary for Pearl S. Lane
Pearl S. Lane, 81, of Urbana, passed away at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Lane was born on March 23, 1937, in Wirt County, West Virginia, the daughter of James and Mary (Gains) Powell. She married Joseph Lane on August 31, 1957, in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1989.
She is survived by one daughter- Loretta Lane of Urbana; two grandchildren- Clinton (Chelsey) Gudgel of Champaign and Brooke Gudgel of Urbana; three great-grandchildren- Zachia, Philo and Emmalyn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and two sisters.
Pearl graduated high school from Warren G. Harding High School, in Warren, Ohio. She worked at the Deluxe Lunch and Billiards, in Campustown, from 1966 to 1980. She later worked at Solo Cup Factory for 32 years, until her retirement in 2015. She enjoyed going to garage sales, loved animals and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Stone Creek Church, in Urbana. According to her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. The family has entrusted the Illiana Cremation Society to assist them in honoring Mrs. Lane’s life. Memorials may be made to the family.
