Obituary for Michael Wayne Fogle Jr.
Michael “Mike” Wayne Fogle Jr., 56 of Danville, IL, formally of Sidell and Schram City, passed from this life into his heavenly home at 8:20pm on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Mike is survived by his wife Rhonda, and five children: Amber (Sam) Marlow, Stephen, Abigail, Michael Joshua, and Jonathan all of Danville, and a step-grandson, Sammy Marlow of Champaign. His mother, Lucille (Huber) Caulk, brother William “Bill” and wife Camille Fogle and their four children: Kimberly (Mitchell) Arellano of Justice, IL, Brenda (Jesse) Woolard, James and Chandler Fogle all of Hillsboro. His mother-in-law, Rheta Johnson, several brothers and sisters-in-law as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Mike was born April 5, 1964 in Hillsboro to the late Michael Wayne Fogle Sr. and Lucille (Huber) Caulk. He attended Gateway College of Evangelism in Florissant, MO for a year and a half. He graduated from Danville Area Community College (DACC) in Danville, IL with an Associate in Applied Science Computer and Network Administration in 2018.
Mike was a devoted father, passionate about teaching his children to be critical thinkers in every area of life, and to be lovers of God and the church. He enjoyed spending quality time with his wife and five children, taking them on many family vacations to many new places and having many fun adventures. One of his favorite places he would take his family, was the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY from the time they were building the museum, through opening day and many more times after. As he grew in his relationship with the Lord, he became very passionate about creation and taught many seminars on biblical world view and the importance of knowing why you believe what you believe. He attended Sidell Assembly UPC where he was a minister for several years. He served in the Sidell Lion’s Club since 2004. He believed that it was his responsibility to teach his children and with that, him and his wife homeschooled all five children. They were one of the directors of the Homefires Homeschool Association of East Central IL and West Central IN. From 2006, when they first began, he consistently attended the Creation Evidence Expo held in Indianapolis, IN.
A walk-thru visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at Sidell Assembly UPC from 10am-12pm. All are welcome but we ask that you practice social distancing, washing hands and bring your own mask as they will not be provided. Immediately following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held for personal family as well as the Sidell Assembly church family. Pastor Tim Pearman will be officiating service. All flowers or donations for the family can be sent to Sidell Assembly 301 E Main Sidell, IL 61876
