Janice Sue Garcia, 62 years of age passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home in Mattoon, IL
surrounded by family.
Janice Sue Garcia was born to Larry Hubert Sr. and Lulabelle Baker (Arthur) on September 5, 1959 in
Bethesda Maryland.
The greatest joy of Janice’s life were her three children and 14 grandchildren. She was so proud of her
children and the compassionate adults they have become, and she treasured the moments they could
spend together. She loved being a grandma, her eyes would always sparkle and her face would light up
every time she was around her grandchildren.
Janice loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving woman with a big heart, she
always made time for her loved ones, always had an ear to listen and arms to hold, she never judged
and always let you know if you were in the wrong in a nice way, she was a problem solver and loved to
bring people close together. She liked to crochet, but she loved to talk on the phone, she would call
everyone just to say “I love you”. You could always find her reading her bible, praying and sending all of
her loved ones inspirational quotes and bible versus. She was a loving and devoted mother,
grandmother, fiancé, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She always put others before herself,
she touched so many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Janice may not have had a lot but she
never complained or asked for more, she was content with what she was blessed with. To know her was
to love her. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
