Obituary for Glenda Murray
Glenda Murray, 70, of Sidell, IL passed on December 16, 2021, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Born in Pensacola, Florida on August 16, 1951, to Juanita and Julius Kelly. She married the late Tommy Murray on New Year’s Eve 1970. After living in many areas during Tommy’s Naval career, they settled in Harvey, Louisiana, where they raised their two daughters. Glenda had an extensive career in the mortgage industry, retiring in 2005 to move with Tommy to their next Naval station. After a long and happy 41-year marriage, Tommy departed the world on January 6, 2012. Glenda never remarried but spent the next nine years living with each of her daughters and enjoying her retirement.
Glenda is survived by her two daughters Tammy Dinger (Jeremy) of Sidell, IL and Charlene Nguyen (Minh) of Belle Plaine, MN; her brother Winston Kelly (Linda), and brother-in-law Rick Nock. She is also survived by six grandchildren, James Murray, Maia Dinger, Alexander Dinger, Mai-Linh Nguyen, Thao Nguyen, and Anh Nguyen and three great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Tommy Murray, her parents Juanita and Julius Kelly, sister Rosalie Nock, and granddaughter Bridget Dinger.
