Obituary for Curtis Michael Thomas Jr.
Curtis Michael Thomas Jr., 68, of Danville, formerly of Pekin, passed away at 8:10 a.m. July 12, 2020, at VA Illiana Healthcare, in Danville.
Curtis was born on July 30, 1951, in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Curtis and Bessie (Woodall) Thomas Sr. He married Dixie Lee Thomas, on June 5, 1974, in Nashville, Tennessee. She preceded him in death in October of 2019.
He is survived by two stepdaughters- Wendy (Randy) Craig and Sheri (Virgil) Jones; two step-sons- John (Sandy) Henry and Theodore Henry; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and step-son- Chuck Henry.
Curtis served in the Unites States Marine Corp, for two tours. He was proud of his time served in the military. Curtis and Dixie were foster parents for physically and mentally handicapped children. Curtis loved going out to eat, shopping and watching birds.
Cremation rites will be accorded and burial in Danville National Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the VA Abe Lincoln Building 101.
